Federal Tire company was founded in Taiwan in 1954. A few years later, a long-term scientific and technical cooperation was initiated with the Bridgestone Corporation (from 1960 to 1979), at which point cooperation with the Sumitomo Rubber Industries concern began, co-owner of the Dunlop brand (from 1981 to 2000). This experience has allowed the Federal to acquire many of the necessary skills and know-how in the manufacture of tires under its own brand – Federal. Today the company has a wide and stable distribution network – more than 120 dealers in more than 80 countries. High-tech manufacturing, state-of-the-art design, stringent quality control and high safety standards allow Federal to successfully develop innovative and high-quality tires of almost all types: passenger, off-road, commercial, UHP tires.
Intersecting main grooves provide traction on snow / ice and improve flotation on snowy roads. V-grooves improve the rigidity of the tread structure and prevent uneven wear under increased loads. Computer simulations of various tread pattern combinations have resulted in a combination of good steering and reduced noise on snow and ice. The wide center rib helps remove water from the contact patch.
